CONCRETE LIFTING

Mudjacking is a thing of the past. Not only is it a messy process that leaves large holes in your existing concrete, it actually adds a ton of weight to the soils that sit beneath your concrete. The reason that adding additional weight or load to the existing soils is not efficient is that the soil has already shown that it can not handle the load of the existing concrete because it has moved, spalled, or cracked. With our concrete repair and polyurethane concrete lifting we minimize the amount of additional load we will be applying to these soils as well as being able to lift and level the concrete, back to it's original elevation.


Concrete typically doesn't crack for no reason. Our goal is to have a concrete repair solution that can prevent the addition of additional stresses to the concrete and help to minimize the loads on the soils below.



Types of Concrete Situations that would benefit from lifting.

We inspect thousands of foundations each year, and we’ve become quite familiar with the signs and symptoms associated with a foundation that needs repair. These are some of the most common signs that we see in our foundation repair work.


  • Misaligned Concrete Joints
    This is common on sidewalks and walkways at the relief joint in the concrete. These misalignments can happen due to poor soil conditions, erosion, or tree roots. Polyurethane Lifting will work on the poor soil conditions, but it won't help if the tree roots have heaved or pushed up a section of the concrete.

  • Garage Slabs
    Garage slabs are notorious for misaligning and cracking. This is typically because the concrete slab of a garage is poured independently to the garage's foundation. This then transfers all of the loading of the concrete to the soil directly below it. In some instances, the garage's foundation can begin to settle and then bind the garage slab. This causes additional weight to be place that those locations and they typically result in cracks and sunken slabs of your garage floor.

  • Deep Injection and Soil Densification
    The deep injection process of Polyurethane Lifting is an effective way to densify the soils below an existing structure. Our concrete leveling process will go along the perimeter of an existing structure and pipes will be driven into the soils below. The polyurethane is then pumped to densify the soils and if desired, it can lift the footing of structures. Typical recovery of up to an 1" can be expected, but the main goal is to densify the existing soils and stop any additional further movement.

  • Sinkhole Repair/Plumbing Leak Repairs
    When we think of sinkholes we think of large holes that open up in the earth. We see a lot of these sinkholes in sandy loose soil areas of the country. Typically, the sinkholes in Virginia are created by a plumbing leak. You see it all the time where pipe breaks occur beneath streets and roadways and the things above it sink into the earth. You can also have this occur on a smaller scale beneath your home. Small plumbing leaks that are unknown can turn into larger problems down the road. The water will compromise or wash out the soils, just like the larger sinkholes, and eventually can lead in a cavity opening up. Although they are rare to experience as a homeowner, they do happen.
